How do you make a miniature fountain/waterfall(like for a small garden) without a pump?

I wanted to make a small landscape(like a bonsai-type thing) in a pot. And I wanted to include a small river & lake. Is there a way to make a waterfall/fountain that would move water up and down without a pump?

Hot tub timer turned on accidentally when it was empty & ran without water in it for about 10 minutes un-noticed.. Now that it’s full the jets dont work. The pump and everything is definitely running but no water coming out of the jets… HELP!!!!! HOW DO YOU PRIME A HOT TUB PUMP?????
